Last night I went to have my dinner in Petitenget at Neno Restaurant. I’m not a vegetarian though, I’m just trying to eat more healthy. The restaurant is not so big, yet it’s cozy and homey. There is a water fountain next to the doorway, giving the sound of water running gently through the stone.

Strawberry Stop at Bedugul
It was the first time I went to Strawberry Stop at Bedugul and I thought it was a resort. But I was wrong. Basically it is a farm and restaurant. I noticed there were some nice small houses, which at first, I thought they were some cottages. Then I asked one of the staff, she said that it is simply a private residence.
Galungan and Kuningan 2009
Tomorrow, Wednesday, 14 of October ‘2009, Balinese will celebrate Galungan holiday and be ended with Kuningan on 24 of October ‘2009. Galungan is a celebration of “Dharma” (means virtue) is winning over “Adharma” (means evil). It is believed that during this holiday Gods visit the Earth and they will leave on Kuningan day. Galungan is occuring every 210 days based on Balinese cycle of days, so we have Galungan and Kuningan holiday twice a year.
Although Galungan falls on a Wednesday, most Balinese will begin their Galungan ‘holiday’ the day before.

Lebaran in Indonesia
Eid or Idul Fitri is the biggest holiday celebrated in Indonesia, which is also called “Lebaran” or “Hari Raya”. For one month preceeding this holy moment, Moslems in Indonesia is mandatory to fast from dawn to dusk. Fasting does not include food only, but also means to fast from smoking cigarette and to control all desire of pleasure.
There is a big tradition in Indonesia on Lebaran, which is “mudik” or “pulang kampung”. People from across the nation will go home, be back to where they originally come from. This explains why suddenly the price of airline tickets raising high two weeks before and after Lebaran. All other types of transport will also be fully booked, such as bus, trains and sea vessel.

Update on the 4th Sanur Village Festival
The 4th Sanur Village Festival will be on today, Wednesday, August 12 ‘2009. The opening ceremony is scheduled on 17.00 – 22.00, but a series of events has been starting this morning at Mertasari Beach.
Bali is full of talented artists and this year they all gather up to fill the music scene in Mertasari Beach on the 4th Annual Sanur Village Festival. Have fun enjoying the Jazz Festival for the weekend. Come with friends and family to enjoy the international level jazz musicians’ performances. Among the celebrated names are Saharadja, Chika Asamoto, Tropical Transit, Balawan, Ito Kurdhi, Tohpati & Dewa Bujana, and Joe Rosenberg. Cultural and music show performs on the main stage starting from 18.00 onward.
